6th grade math:
See me for 5 division problems done in class and turned in.

Social Studies:
Reviewed ch25sec3. NO homework

7th grade math:
4.1 wksht A-C and Book test Friday


Wednesday 4/16/08

6th grade math:
Reviewed homework 7.2 Follow-Up. Turned in worksheet on Reciprocals. Clarified that it does make a difference how a division problem is set up. Clarified how to use the algorithm to solve division problems involving fractions. Test over fractions will be next week. I will hand out a study guide Friday:)
HW: #9 pgs83-86; 9-13, 18, 20-23, 30-35

Social studies:
Peer edited essay/letters from yesterday. Then self edited and revised. Final copies due tomorrow. HW: Re-read ch25 sec2 and do the section review.

7th grade math:
corrected homework. Started and finished problem 4.2 HW: #8 pgs44-50; 1, 6, 10, 11


Monday 4/14/08

6th grade math:
Worked on problem 7.1 follow-up and checked it in class.
Some people had redo work. It is due in tray by WEDNESDAY.
ACE#8 pgs83-86; 1-8, 19, 27, 45 due tomorrow.
Fraction Test possibly Friday=book test over add. subt. mult. and division of fractions.

Soc. Studies:
Discussed and signed up for track meet events which will be held for all 6th grade classes the last week of school. Parents welcome to come watch in stands:) Switched seats:)

7th grade math:
Went over homework. Assigned a question to each group from the reflection for
investigation 3. HW: Read pgs 37-39 and have questions for tomorrows lesson.


Friday 4/11/08

6th grade math:
no homework

Social Studies:
no homework

7th grade math:
pg 29 3.2 follow-up and #6 pgs 31-35; 7,8,20-23,25. Whatever not finished in class was homework.


Thursday 4/10/08

6th grade math:
Today we worked on the mistakes we made with double digit multiplication. Then we worked on problem 7.1 on pg79 (?).
HW: Fraction quiz tomorrow and some students have a redo assignment.

Social Studies:
Discussion on US businesses moving to China and the effects that has on the US as well as China. HW: none

7th grade math:
Corrected homework. Received credit for completing. Then worked on problem 3.3. Not finished in class so no homework.


Wednesday 4/9/08

6th grade math:

Started investigation 7.1.  Turned in reflections for inv 4 and 5.

HW:  worksheet-evens only and no calculators.  Use traditional mult. method

Social Studies:

Finished discussion of child labor in China.  HW:  none

7th grade math:

Corrected homework and turned in.  Did prob 3.2 as class.

HW:  #5 pgs31-35; 3, 5, 6, 13-18


Tuesday 4/8/08

6th grade math:
Reviewed 1 digit traditional multiplication. Worked on Reflections for Investigations 4 (pg 53) and Investigation 5 (pg 63). All answers must be like done in class w/ the question clearly evident in the answer, complete sentences, and with worked out examples. What not done in class was homework.

Social Studies:
Shared our group article summaries in class. Discussed our understanding of child labor in China. HW: write 2 questions with the answers to information that came out in todays discussions.

7th grade math:
Ace #4 pgs 31-35; 1,2, 9-12 and worksheet (all)


Monday 4/7/08

6th grade math:

Warmed-up with multiplication bingo.  Reviewed algorithms for addition, subtraction, and multiplication of fractions.  No homework, but fraction quiz Friday.

Social Studies:

Groups assigned an article on internet about China and child labor.  Groups will summarize articles and as a class we will compile the data and discuss.  NO homework.

7th grade math:

Went over test from Stretching and Thinking book.  In groups discussed answers to check-up and then handed in.  Started Inv. 3 and prob. 3.1.  We will finish in class tomorrow so no homework.

Extra:

Bring in report cards signed by a parent


Friday 3/28/08

6th grade math:

Fraction Quiz and collected multiplication wksht.  Have a nice break:)

Social Studies:

Watched video which displayed chinese culture.

7th grade math:

No class due to assembly.  Bring wksht Monday.  Have a nice break:)

Extra:

Don’t forget report cards on Monday:)


Thursday 3/27/08

6th grade math:
Finished prob. 5.3 and follow-up.
HW: wksht and do problem #6 on pg 61 on the back of the wksht.
FRACTiON QUIZ TOMORROW!

Soc. Studies:
RC wrap up and China research. No homework.

7th grade math:
Finished problem 2.2 and started Check-Up 1 over investigations 1&2. Finish Check-up for homework. Use notes, book, etc. to help complete the assignment.

Extra:
One copy of report card needs to come back to school signed.
Field trip money due by end of April.
