Wednesday 3/26/08

6th grade math:
Corrected homework and collected. Worked on problem 5.3 in groups.
HW: fraction quiz Friday

**Anyone leaving early should see me to get class/homework.

social studies:
Took ch24 test. Students used notes to see how helpful they would be. That let them know how well they take notes; are they getting the main ideas.
HW: none

7th grade math:
Wrote new goals for mp4. Corrected homework and turned it in.
HW: problem 2.2 in spiral

EXTRA:
Report cards were handed out today. One of the copies need to come back signed by a parent by Friday.

Field trip notes went home Monday. Please turn in $ and permission slips by end of April so bills can get paid:)


Tuesday 3/25/08

6th grade math:
Corrected homework, studied for fraction quiz, evaluated mp3 goals. HW: wksht that reviews subtraction of fractions. Fraction quiz Friday.

s.studies:
Worked on computer taking ch24 quizzes and then received a chapter tutatorial wksht to do at home for a couple extra credit points. It is due Wed.

7th grade math:
Corrected homework, talked about report card comments, and received wksht to review pencil paper division. No calculators.


Monday 3/24/08

Welcome to the last marking period of the year. It is my goal to remain up to date with this blog. I have examined my pitfalls and have a solution. Wish me well:)

6th grade math:
prob. 5.2 and HW: #6pg60-62; 11-17, 1-5 and fraction quiz Friday

S.Studies:
Showed students how to use the internet to help w/homework and study for tests/quizzes; go.hrw.com I will make copies of the steps taught in class to send home w/students in case they forget how to get to this textbook support source.
HW: ch24 test w/notes on Wed.

7th grade math:
prob. 2.1 and HW: #3pgs21-24; 1-8, 17-22


Thursday 2/7/08

6th Grade Math:
Worked on #8 on pg 55. Took lots of notes on circles and the circumference equation. Viewed demonstration of the relationship between diameter and circumference.
HW: Wksht on equations

Social Studies:
Start group comparisons of northern and southern Africa using various graphic organizers.
No hw

7th Grade Math:
Completed the Algebra Prognosis test.
HW: Reflection pg 40


Wednesday 2/6/08

6th Grade Math:
Reviewed homework, took notes, answered questions from problem 4.3.
HW: none, but can expect book test sometime late next week or early following week( this depends on how long it takes us to work with graphing calculators:)

Social Studies;
Corrected last nights homework, and assigned ch23 sec 3 to read and do pink wksht.

7th Grade Math:
Reviewed problem 3.3, homework, and received a packet of practice problems to do w/partner. HW: none


Tuesday 2/6/08

6th Grade Math:
Completed problem 4.3 in textbook.
HW: #7 pgs 54-59; 2 thru 7,10

Social Studies:
Read and worked on wksht for ch23 sec2. HW: whatever not done

7th Grade Math:
Went over homework (Ace #4) and then completed problem 3.3 on pg 31 & 32. Need a labsheet.
HW: #5 pgs 33-39; 8 thru 10, 19


Monday 2/4/08

6th Grade Math:
Reviewed homework. Handed in worksheet. Started problem 4.1 which is a handout and not in textbook. If you are absent, get notes when you return. This lesson is about writing equations to rules generated from a pattern found in a table and/or graph.
HW: Finish problem 4.1 (both sides) and Reflection for investigation 3 found on pg 48. Be sure reflection uses complete sentences and examples for each question. Also, make sure all questions are answered for each problem on the page.

Social Studies:
Self evaluated country reports w/rubric and handed them in. Then we took notes over ch23 sec1. Be sure to get the notes if you were absent. NO HW:)

7th Grade Math:
Reviewed check-up from last week and then summarized problem 3.2 in class.
HW: Ace #4 pgs 33-39; 11-14


Thursday 1/31/08

6th Grade Math:
We finished and summarized problem 3.4 in book pg 41. Make sure to get notes if you are absent:)
HW: wksht: analyzing graphs will be assessed and entered in gradebook
Ace #6 pgs 42-47; 1 and 2

Social Studies:
Watched video of Southern Africa Safari. This was an introduction to our study of Southern Africa/ chapter 23.
HW: Read ch 23 section 1 pgs 510-513. Read to understand/learn. Be ready to discuss tomorrow.

7th Grade Math:
Homework from Tuesday due. Collected Worksheet and will be graded/assessed.
The rest of the class period was finishing NWEA testing. Have ACE #3 ready for Friday.

Tuesday 1/29/08

6th Grade Math:
Discussed homework and started problem 3.4 in book. Homework is to finish part A only of problem 3.4 if not finished in class.

Social Studies:
Today we peer edited and revised in groups. Those who did not have their 1st final draft worked on their own and will have to revise and edit on own. Homework: Final copy of country quest projects due Friday.

7th Grade Math:
Worked on problem 3.1 together and then practiced the skills learned on a handout.
HW: worksheet is due tomorrow
Ace #3 pgs 33-39; 1-7, 16, 17 due Thursday
bring Battle book to class because we will finish NWEA testing Wed.
EXTRA CREDIT DUE TUES. FEB. 19TH= pg 26 #13

INCOMPLETES FOR ALL CLASSES NEED TO BE RESOLVED BY THURSDAY. TEACHERS MUST SUBMIT GRADES ON FRIDAY. ANY WORK NOT COMPLETED AND TURNED IN BY THURSDAY WILL BECOME A ZERO.
